A Major Oversight

Middle bevel gears from a Kawasaki Zg1400 Concourse. These came by way of ebay for $35 + shipping. The equipment to machine bevel gear sets is rare outside of major production shops and they don't do custom jobs. $35 for a set. Did I mention I got them for only $35?

The Hub Contol Arms

Tonight I mill from 2-1/4" .2" wall tube these pieces that will bolt to the ends of the hub and be the control arms that the steering rods and steering damper bolt to. They are welded to the crescents with the counter bored 5mm holes. A short clip of the rotary contouring (4th axis) I did on the mill to make these parts is below.

Hub Something Something

Indicating to find the center

The VMC makes short work of the 10 5x.8mm tapped holes on each end of the hub that the steering arms and steering damper arm will bolt to.

Here is an overview of the hub with the 2 end caps assembled and the 80mm main wheel bearing slid into place. the wheel bearings slide on to the hub and will be held in place by the larger outer inserts that I have yet to machine that come together and secure to the Kawasaki rim.
